A mature contract-filling base
Thailand and Malaysia host contract manufacturers filling detergents, surface cleaners, dishwashing liquids and air care for regional and global brands. Indonesia adds scale for high-volume commodity formats. Facilities working to GMP-adjacent standards are available, which matters once your retailer audits the supply chain.
Formulation ownership
Decide early whether you take the filler's house formulation or bring your own. House formulations are faster and cheaper, but you rarely own them. If the brand depends on performance claims, own the formulation and register it in your name, with the manufacturing agreement recording that ownership explicitly.
Regulatory work is destination specific
The EU requires CLP classification and labelling, Detergents Regulation ingredient disclosure and a poison-centre notification with a UFI code. The US requires EPA registration for any antimicrobial or disinfectant claim, which is a long process and cannot be retrofitted after production.
Freight and dangerous goods
Flammable or corrosive formulations become dangerous goods, changing packaging, documentation and freight cost. Where possible, reformulate to a non-DG classification or ship concentrated and dilute locally — both routes usually beat paying DG surcharges on water.
How TUSKO manages the program
We audit the filler, protect your formulation ownership in the contract, control artwork and label compliance against the destination rules, and manage the shipment and documentation as your single counterparty. Send your product brief to start.
