Toys and juvenile products carry the strictest safety regime in consumer goods: EN71 for Europe, ASTM F963 and CPSIA for the US, AS/NZS ISO 8124 for Australia. ASEAN factories in Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia supply global toy brands at scale — but only a subset of factories can sustain the testing and traceability discipline first-world importers need.

The non-negotiables
Every production lot needs third-party testing from an accredited lab against your destination standard — not a one-time certificate from last year. Small parts, flammability, migration of certain elements and phthalate limits must be verified per material change. Factory social compliance audits (ICTI, BSCI or Sedex) are mandatory for most retail programs.
